At one stage, it appeared the Chelsea manager was fighting a losing battle as a miserable run of results sparked reports he was on the verge of the sack.Amid reports that Chelsea’s stars were sick of Sarri’s inflexible game-plan, monotonous training sessions and habit of criticising them through the media, the nadir came in February when Blues goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga refused to be substituted during the League Cup final defeat against Manchester City.Sarri has side-stepped one crisis after another just deftly enough that he has emerged from a bleak winter with his prospects of avoiding the axe looking brighter after Chelsea secured a top four finish in the Premier League last weekend. With a place in next season’s Champions League sealed with a game to spare, Chelsea can turn their attention to winning the first trophy of Sarri’s reign.A 1-1 draw in the semi-final first leg away to Eintracht has put Chelsea in a good position for the return leg at Stamford Bridge.Winning the final, against Arsenal or Valencia in Baku, would strengthen the Italian’s hopes of convincing the Chelsea hierarchy he deserves more time to impose his philosophy on a squad that has so far been unable, or unwilling, to adapt to ‘Sarri-ball’.There remain doubts in some quarters about Sarri’s ability to make his tactics work in the Premier League after the former Napoli manager’s troubled year.Chelsea supporters are still under-whelmed by Sarri, despite their team’s qualification for the Champions League, which is worth at least an estimated £35 million. At half time of Sunday’s game against Watford they responded to a turgid display with jeers — the discordant soundtrack to Sarri’s woes.– Peace-maker Kante –Chelsea roused themselves to secure a 3-0 win that proved enough to seal their top four berth after surprise draws for Arsenal and Manchester United.Despite winning only once in four league games, Chelsea stumbled over the finish line in fittingly chaotic fashion. Even Sarri conceded they were “lucky” to beat Watford after such a disjointed opening. It has often been that way for the 60-year-old this term. The biggest issue with Sarri’s system has been his conviction that his handpicked pre-season signing Jorginho must play as the lynchpin in front of his defence.Jorginho’s tepid displays would have been bad enough without the perception that Sarri was playing favourites with his former Napoli player.Sarri moved N’Golo Kante from the defensive midfield role to make room for Jorginho. Chelsea appeared far more fragile as a result. At club where grievances are aired, including Gary Cahill’s accusation that Sarri doesn’t treat his players with respect, it would have been no surprise if Kante had seized the opportunity to voice his disdain for the coach after picking up a hamstring injury against Watford.Sarri admitted he shouldn’t have risked Kante because he knew the France midfielder was tired and in danger of being injured.Yet Kante was happy to play peace maker.“I had no problem before the game, I was fine and it (the injury) just happened,” Kante said.“We are doing better, I think we understand the idea of the manager.”Aware of what silverware would mean to Sarri’s job security, Kante added: “Many times in the season we have been winning and losing, winning and losing, so we have to see if we can get what we want on Thursday and go to the final.”0Shares0000(Visited 1 times, 1 visits today) 0Shares0000Chelsea manager Maurizio SarriLONDON, United Kingdom, May 8 – After a turbulent first season at Chelsea, Maurizio Sarri goes into Thursday’s Europa League semi-final against Eintracht Frankfurt savouring some much-needed breathing space.Sarri has spent most of the campaign engaged in a struggle to win over his sceptical players and fans.

Essential Reading! Get my first book: The Only Sale Guide You’ll Ever Need “The USA Today bestseller by the star sales speaker and author of The Sales Blog that reveals how all salespeople can attain huge sales success through strategies backed by extensive research and experience.” Buy Now Work often gets in the way of your real work. There is a never-ending stream of incoming requests for your time, your attention, your energy, and your labor. For most of us, scratching one item off a task list only causes the replacement by two or more additional tasks. It is a race that one must run, even if there is no way to win. If there were a way to win, however, it would be to run the shorter, more important legs of the race. While the marathon cannot be completed, the sprints can be run to completion. If you were to make a list of all the things you must do, some of the tasks would be essential, and critical to your success. Other tasks, done or left undone, would go unnoticed. Many would be necessary, even though they would contribute almost nothing to the outcomes you need to produce, nor would they be instrumental in reaching your goals. This being true, your time, attention, energy, and labor needs to be employed in what is critical to your success. If you are in sales, there are a million distractions available to you, many of them being necessary, even though the time spent and energy depleted would have been better invested in the few things that matter. The email from Human Resources explaining a new change to the self-service portal might be interesting, but it isn’t necessary that you read it unless and until you need to use it for some reason. The client request for a report is undoubtedly important, but owning the outcomes is not the same as owning the task, and could easily be delegated (and should be). Your expense report is due on Friday, and it’s Monday morning at 9:00 AM, which should prevent you from spending sales hours on an administrative task, even one that is necessary. The work that is your real work in sales is creating new opportunities and pursuing those opportunities. While there are all kinds of tasks you might do, and many that are necessary, your success is mostly going to be measured by how well you do producing these two outcomes, and predominately the second one.You cannot allow work to prevent you from doing your work.
Odisha police have rescued more than 3000 children including 82 from outside State by coordinating with Women and Child Development department and non-governmental organisations.Of the 82 children rescued as part of Odisha police’s Operation Paree-III, 61 are boys while 21 are girls. While 20 children from Odisha were found in Andhra Pradesh, 17 and 15 were traced from neighbouring West Bengal and Telangana respectively. Rescuers divided into eight different teams found nine and eight from Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh respectively. Children were also traced from Maharashtra and Delhi. These children were found from railway stations, bus terminals and shelter homes.Rescued children would be handed over to respective District Child Welfare Committees for reunion with their families. As many as 3056 children were rescued mostly from roadside eateries within Odisha.Recently, Odisha government had admitted that 6579 children had gone missing from the State since 2016. Of them, 5028 were minor girls. Number of boys is higher than that of girls among rescued children.Of the 5028 missing girls, 2370 had been traced which means whereabouts of more than half of the missing girls was not known. There has been rising trend in missing of girls from the State. In 2016, as many as 1291 girls had gone missing while 1360 were reported missing in 2017. Last year, the number of missing girls increased to 1875 registering 37.86% jump. Meanwhile, Akhand, a human rights activist, has moved NHRC drawing attention of the commission on the fact that last year, Odisha Police had rescued 2895 missing children during its operation Paree-II. Of 2895, 2789 children were rescued from different parts of Odisha. However, neither any action had been taken against the child abusers nor had the administration properly rehabilitated rescued children.
Ravaged by floods, Jammu and Kashmir faces the real prospect of not getting to host official cricket at all in the 2014-15 domestic season starting early next month.Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) secretary M.L. Nehru, who himself has been airlifted from a submerged Srinagar to Delhi, said on Monday that he would soon request the BCCI to relocate the state’s home matches either to Delhi or Punjab. If that indeed happens, it would send a large portion of the domestic schedule topsy-turvy, as many alterations would have to be made at least to the northzone leg of all the BCCI tournaments.”Since the floods have badly affected the cricket infrastructure, I don’t think we can stage any matches in the state. Even though the Ranji Trophy is beginning in December this season, I don’t think they [JKCA’s home games] can be played there as we, for instance, need good pitches to stage these matches,” Nehru told Mail Today.”We have to conduct trials, too, to select teams for various tournaments. In about 10 days, I will write to the BCCI and request it to relocate our home matches. They may either be held in Delhi or Punjab,” he said.Jammu and Kashmir, anyway, have limited cricket infrastructure – from grounds to equipment – and all of it is feared to have been badly hit by the floods. More importantly, the houses of many players – almost all of those living in Kashmir – have met the same fate.advertisementNehru, who was airlifted along with his wife by the Army on Saturday, said he realised the extent of damage caused only after reaching Delhi as the electricity and telephone lines were cut off to his second-floor apartment near the Dal Lake.”While we were there, stuck on the second floor, we had no idea about the damage. It’s now that I am watching TV here that I realise it,” he said.Nehru said that the entire JKCA cricket set-up is in complete disarray. “We don’t know which player is where. I am told that both our main cricket grounds – the Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium in Srinagar and the Science College in Jammu – have been affected. There was four-to-five-foot water in Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium,” he said, based on what people have been informing him on telephone.”With so much water, the pitches would have been badly damaged. Even when the water recedes, the silt that will be left behind would further affect pitches, and it’ll take them a long time to get back into shape. The ground equipment, like motorised rollers, too would have been affected.”India off-spinner Parveez Rasool, who was stranded for 10 days on the second floor of his home in Bijbehara, Anantnag district, was disappointed when told about the possibility of JKCA not hosting any matches. “It would be sad if we have to play our matches outside the state, though I think we can probably play in Jammu [if the conditions improve],” Rasool told Mail Today. The players, too, have been badly affected. While Srinagarbased players will have to rebuild their houses, Ian Dev Singh, who lives in Jammu, swam across the Dal Lake in Srinagar to reach safety.Singh was playing in Srinagar when floods came. “I had to jump from the balcony of my third-floor hotel room as the water had risen till the second storey. I swam for about 15 minutes in the Dal Lake, all the way to the nearby mountain area,” the batsman told Mail Today.”There were three-four players in my hotel and they also left in the similar way,” he said. “It’s really sad because we had prepared a lot before this [floods]. Now, when we had to practice harder we’re not able to do that. It’s very de-motivating at the moment, but it’s okay. Hopefully, it’s a matter of one or two weeks, then we are going to start again.”

Merson: Liverpool can end title race in week’s timeby Paul Vegas10 months agoSend to a friendShare the loveArsenal hero Paul Merson says Liverpool can win the Premier League title in a week’s time.Merson believes if Liverpool win at the Etihad Stadium next month, a seven-point lead would be too much for Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City to overturn. He said, “Leicester vs Manchester City is a big game and a must-win game for City, who are in trouble now as they are four points behind Liverpool.”I mean it has now got down to the situation whereby if Liverpool win at City in a week’s time – it is all over.”So this is a big game for City and a hard one as Leicester can cause you problems But because they have to win, I think they will, but Saturday’s result will have knocked the stuffing out of them and Man City have now lost two of their last three league games.”And before that it looked like they would never ever lose a game, but I see them just winning this one to stay on the coat tails of Liverpool.” About the authorPaul VegasShare the loveHave your say

ODENSE, Denmark – Canopy Growth Corp. (TSX:WEED) plans to establish a 40,000-square-metre cannabis production facility in Odense, Denmark to cater to the Scandinavian country’s medical marijuana patients. The new facility comes under a joint venture announced in September between Canada’s largest licensed marijuana producer and European hemp producer Danish Cannabis ApS, called Spectrum Denmark. The companies say the production facility in Denmark’s third-largest city is expected to have more than 125 staff and serve approximately 60,000 patients. Some 30,000 square metres of existing greenhouse infrastructure could be converted as soon as early 2018, subject to regulatory approval and licensing, the companies say. While Spectrum Denmark goes through the process of getting its license for production, it expects to import cannabis products from Canada. This comes as Canopy and other Canadian marijuana companies look to increase their international footprint to benefit from future growth in countries such as Jamaica, Germany and Brazil.“The Danish market is a stable, attractive market for a number of strategic reasons,” Bruce Linton, chairman and CEO of Canopy Growth said in a statement. “In Denmark, we see a strong pharmaceutical industry with an equally strong research tradition as well as a skilled labour pool and attractive energy rates.”
SASKATOON – CanniMed Therapeutics Inc. is postponing a key shareholder meeting to give it time to hold talks with Aurora Cannabis Inc. which has made a hostile takeover offer for the company.Trading in CanniMed shares (TSX:CMED) was halted pending the news. The meeting had been set for Jan. 23 for CanniMed shareholders to vote on its plan to issue shares in its acquisition of Newstrike Resources Ltd.
